The mainland Chinese authorities have recently pointed the finger of anti-liberalization at "judicial independence."
Senior officials of the Communist Party of China have made continuous speeches, asking the people across the country to seriously resist the erroneous trend of "judicial independence" in the West and never allow the leadership of the Communist Party of China to be negated and the socialist rule of law with Chinese characteristics to be overthrown. The CCP must not fall into the trap of "judicial independence" in the West.
Immediately after the Cultural Revolution political movement, the Chinese Communist Party authorities proposed some judicial reform measures in view of the painful lessons of lawlessness during the ten years of civil strife, which actually moved towards "judicial independence." There can be greater autonomy in judging cases, limiting the interference of local government officials in court work, etc.
However, these reform attempts were quickly stopped because the authorities later realized that "judicial independence" meant that judicial work was separated from the leadership of the Chinese Communist Party and no longer became a tool for the Chinese Communist Party＇s authoritarian regime to suppress the people, which would weaken and endanger The Chinese Communist regime, therefore, has now begun to criticize "judicial independence" and even prohibits people from talking about "judicial independence."
China needs judicial independence. Only with judicial independence can we achieve fairness and justice.
