Since the CCP promulgated the Lawyers Law many years ago, mainland lawyers have been making various appeals to change a provision of the Lawyers Law that "lawyers must join the local lawyers＇ association where they are located" to be voluntary, because this provision greatly restricts lawyers. The normal activities of lawyers make it impossible for lawyers to protect the legitimate rights and interests of the people.
Lawyers associations in various provinces, cities and counties in mainland China have the same nature and functions as the labor unions in factories in mainland China.
On the surface, trade unions in mainland China are industrial organizations of the working class. They claim to protect workers’ interests and defend labor rights. In fact, they are an agency of the CCP government.
The Mainland China Lawyers Association is nominally a lawyer industry organization, but it is not to protect lawyers＇ legitimate rights and interests, but to manage and supervise lawyers＇ practice on behalf of the government. It is a tool for the authorities to suppress and restrict lawyers＇ work.
If the Bar Association finds that a lawyer is causing trouble to the government, it can be disqualified as a punishment.
Therefore, in order to truly realize judicial justice, mainland Chinese lawyers must revise this mandatory provision in the Chinese mainland lawyers law.
Lawyers in mainland China need to be revised so that lawyers in mainland China can also be protected by the law.
