Zhang, Zongping: Only by Terminating Autocracy, could Chinese People Enjoy Human Rights

The phrase of human rights looks so rare in China, and most Chinese people have no idea what human rights they have. Since the Chinese communist authority, for the sake of its group benefits, unwilling to let people know their human rights, so there is no promotion or report on this issue, and it blinds and deafens the media, thus the concept of human rights seems to be blurring in China. In the view of the ruling group, its power and benefit would suffer damages, once the people enjoy human rights; therefore, it keeps doing dirty business to deceive the people in the name of serving people. It also lies to the people: the most important human right is the right to live, which means if only one keeps alive, he is enjoying human rights. Anyone with consciousness knows how ridiculous the saying is.
The human right is a common value commonly accepted by the people around the world, which is a basic right God gives to us. Whether the people enjoy human rights is a significant standard to assess whether a country is ruled by law or not, and is also the only standard to measure whether a country is a democratic country or an authoritarian country. Once the people have human rights, they will have the right to elect or being elected, which embodies the sanctity of constitution.
Facing the communist government’s authoritarian ruling, international community appeals to implement multi-party democratic political system in China, in order to improve the human rights situation. The communist government ought to accept the advice as to improving human rights situation in China, proposed by the international community, to lead China to a democratic road. Only an authentic democratic government would truly improve the human rights situation.
