Zhang,Chunxia: Why China often occur food safety accidents

A few years ago, China had the poisonous milk incident which shocked the world, in the accident, thousands of babies were ill or dead because of the poisonous milk. After the incident, various food safety accidents happened, on the face of it, these incidents happened independently, and had no lateral relations. In fact, behind these incidents exist terrible dirty hand, which is the one party dictatorship.
Under the autocratic dictatorship, power of governors is not restricted, people don’t have freedom of speech, and media don’t have free reports, people don’t have right to know the truth. In such conditions, as long as evil hearted business owners collide with officials and gain huge profits; even if they trample people like mud and ashes, and take bribes and pervert the law, they would do everything to block news and don’t allow people to tell the truth.
Under the democratic system in democratic countries, as long as food safety accidents happen, judiciary will soon get involved, media will report straightly, relevant personnel are destined to get legal punishment, and officials will be impeached. Therefore, to guarantee live and property of Chinese people, and make people make a good living and are contented, the democratic and free system must be carried out in China.
