Wang,Xiaoping: Twisted nature of education under the rule of one party regime
王小萍(Wang,Xiaoping)
The goal of education is to socialize individuals, let them learn cognition, to do things, to cooperate and survive. Education is to pass outstanding system, moral and personality to the next generation, and form a more perfect social character and personality of the whole nation. Someone said, competition of future companies including nations are no longer competition between two leaders, but competition between groups, nations, and cultures.
As the corruption of present political system lead to corruption in all fields, judiciary and education are the first to have full collapse in spiritual field. What should we teach to the next generation if a country a nation doesn’t have standard of right and wrong, and educators themselves lose faith and confidence. The next generation hear everyday that people distrust each other, enterprises deceive one another, they only think about how to enter the privileged stratum and seek profits for themselves, their little souls cultivated in this environment won’t have perfect social character and national personality, and without these how to maintain the China’s status as a economy big country? How to strengthen economic power? How to improve qualities of Chinese people? Therefore education is the cheapest national defense, the basis of strengthening a country lies in education.
The current education in China has changed beyond recognition, from kindergartens to universities all turned to profit organizations, no one really sit down and think carefully the nature of education, and how to inherit and develop outstanding culture and tradition? What’s the consequence if the trend continues? Actually it’s very simple to answer these questions, these are caused by the obscurantist policy under the one party dictatorship, educators lose themselves in the money-grubbing trend, they compete for interests, and forget their duty to impart knowledge and educate people. This is not only negligence of duty for educators, but also grief for the country and the nation!
