Bao,Shuqun: Requesting CCP to instantly release Liu,Xiaobo

On Oct 8, 2010, Nobel Peace Prize committee in Norway granted the prize to Liu,Xiaobo, for his continued and nonviolent struggle over basic human rights in China. On that day, Liu,Xiaobo has served 5 months in prison, and he has to continue his serving of 11 years sentence until July in 2020.
So what Liu,Xiaobo did wrong for such heavy sentence? On July 23,2009, Liu,Xiaobo was arrested by Chinese procuratorial organs for inciting subversion of state power. On Dec 25, the Beijing No 1 Intermediate Court sentenced Liu,Xiaobo 11 years imprisonment for inciting subversion of state power, and he was deprived political rights for 2 years. The written judgment of first instance charged him published inflammatory articles of “CCP’s autocratic patriotism”, “Are Chinese people only can accept party democracy”, “Change the society to change politics”, “Multi-faced CCP dictatorship”, “The rising of dictatorship has negative effects on democracy worldwide”, “Press for illegal mines and child slaves” on overseas websites, slandered and libeled Chinese government. Liu also presented “Abolishing one party monopoly regime”, “Establishing federal republic of China under the democratic constitutionalism” in “08 charter”, trying to incite subversion of state power.
I read “08 Charter” several times, I didn’t see any serious words “subversion”. It only targeted at disadvantages of existing one party dictatorship, and presented outlines from politics, economy, law, livelihood, social management, and human rights, hoping Chinese people can head for democratic and free social system through reform. Secondly, if we admit people are true masters of the country, then why can’t they overthrow a government not respected by people? Look at the CCP from a wide angle, official corruption is at its height, party override law, power represent everything, people have no freedom and no basic human rights, and can only have subsistence. CCP takes people by hand, even deprive their religious rights and childbearing. Why can’t change such government?
One year ago, Liu,Xiaobo’s sentence exposed his strong points, proved the emotional appeal of democratic freedom and universal values. The power which is rooted in conscience and justice, become a thorny problem for CCP, and cruelly oppress dissidents with a guilty conscience. Liu,Xiaobo’s award this year is conformation of his peaceful and non violence fighting; and conformation for all people who fight for democracy and freedom in China. Therefore, we also demand CCP to release Liu,Xiaobo immediately. We should see clearly that establishing a democratic, free, human rights China through peace and non violence will be recognized by the world.
