Jiang,Pu: Why CCP is afraid of democrats?

History is developing in spirals, and we have feeling of déjà vu when we look back in history.
CCP’s persecution of democratic personnel has close relationship with CCP’s development. Let us review the growth of CCP. The establishment of CCP has two reasons. Let’s see the domestic reason first; China in 1919 had incompetent government, corrupt officials, separatist warlord regimes, chaos market, and natural and man-made calamities. A very important incident happened that year: the “Patriotic movement in May 4” which was caused by “Shandong problem”, and exposed the incompetent Beijing government. Look around the world, development of technology, monopoly of the capital market, victory of the October revolution in Former Soviet Union, communist activities in Europe spread like a storm, new culture, new ideas rush in China, a brand new outside world presented in front of Chinese people. Urged by the Communist International, and devotion of the advanced democrats in China, CCP had roots for its development. Chen,Duxiu, Li,Dazhao and other famous intellects set up “Communist group” in Shanghai. One needs to remember one thing: Shanghai openly set up organization of protecting workers’ legal rights “China Labor Secretary” which signals the emergence of proletariats. Now we can see clearly that CCP are old hands of democratic movements, they know very well intellects especially those who care for the fate of their nation have influence on politics and the nation.
Let’s see if current China has incompetent government. Perhaps not, but government decrees can’t get out of Sea Palaces, because local governments want to protect local interests and don’t care national interests. Corruption of officials, unequal education opportunities, and continuous rising prices of daily goods, higher housing prices, no guarantee of work safety and food safety, personal property can’t be protected, poor people don’t have money to cure diseases. One meal of the rich is one year income of the poor, employment of veterans can’t be arranged, graduation from university means unemployment. Back pay, violent enforcement of law by city inspectors and other problems, too many social problems can’t be solved which are domestic problems. Look around the international society, CCP won’t cover the sky with one hand thanks to the high speed development of internet. Democratic movements worldwide grow rigorously, disintegration of the former Soviet Union impacted China like the October revolution. Under impacts of domestic and overseas factors, democratic intellects that have concerns for the country and the people care for the future of the nation through various ways. Another incident one needs to remember is the 13th Central Committee of the C.P.C. established economic-centered development goal and emerged propertied class, one can see the interesting coincidence. CCP abandoned the original goal and deviated from the three people’s principles by Sun,Zhongshan, and dragged time back to Beijing government of Duan,Qirui. Intellects who love the country and the people like democrats Wei,Jingsheng, Wang,Bingzhang, Liu,Xiaobo, Qin,YOngmin, Chen,Shuqing come together for a common goal, CCP see the original and ultimate results of democratic movements. Won’t CCP be afraid and why CCP should not be afraid?
This is history, and that’s how history develops forward. Any corrupt and downfallen government will be replaced by democracy, that’s the inevitable outcome. In spite of fears and persecution, democratic forces in China will kindle the whole nation like little sparks.
