Rally of “Congratulations on Mr. Liu,Xiaobo’s 2010 Nobel Peace Prize” in Washington D.C.

At 11:00 am on Dec 10, 2010, Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation organized rally of “Congratulations on Mr. Liu,Xiaobo’s 2010 Nobel Peace Prize” in front of the Victims of Communism Monument in Washington D.C. and more than one hundred people including Congressmen attended the rally.
On Friday, Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation organized rally of “Congratulations on Mr. Liu,Xiaobo’s 2010 Nobel Peace Prize” in front of the Victims of Communism Monument in Washington D.C. and more than one hundred people including Congressmen attended the rally. It snowed at the beginning of the rally, but audiences still payed tribute to Mr. Liu,Xiaobo, the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize winner who is still in prison. Speaker at the rally called on the Chinese government to release Liu,Xiaobao immediately; requested China to carry out democratic political reform. Chairman of China Democracy Party, proprietor of “China Democracy Journal” was invited and lead thirty CDP members to attend this rally and he made speech.
Democratic Congressmen Denise Kucinich attended the rally and made speech. He expressed at the rally that Chinese government couldn’t tolerate a common citizen to advise the political system and showed the violence of the government. He said :“This is a very important moment, not only because Mr. Liu,Xiaobo and human freedom, but also we can grasp this opportunity to remind Chinese government its responsibility as a big nation. We hereby celebrate Mr. Liu,Xiaobo’s winning of 2010 Nobel Peace Prize, and also remind friends in Chinese government that spirit can’t be oppressed, and voices of freedom will ultimately be expressed.” He also called on the Chinese government to release Liu,Xiaobo, requested Chinese government to remove surveillance of his family and friends.
Wife of deceased Congressmen Lantos said at the rally, “Last time when the Nobel Peace Prize was refused was in 1936. Hitler prevented a Germans to claim the award. Chinese government imprisoned Liu,Xiaobo and put his wife under house arrest, which remind us again the dictatorship of communism.”
Lantos was Democratic Congressmen, and also survivor of German Jewish concentration camp. He focused on human rights problems in China, after his decease, the Lantos Human Rights foundation was set up, and his wife is chairman of the foundation.
His wife mentioned human rights conditions in China, and she also called Chinese government to emphases demands of Chinese people, and improve human rights in China.
Chairman of China Democracy Party showed at the rally that Liu,Xiaobo’s winning of 2010 Nobel Peace prize encouraged Chinese people who love democracy. He said: “Lui,Xiaobo’s sentence of 11 years by CCP again proved the dictatorship of CCP. We hope Liu,Xiaobo and all dissidents oppressed by CCP will be freed soon. We hope people who love democracy and freedom worldwide can unite together and fight against dictatorship of CCP.”
Exiled Tibetans and Uyghur also attended the rally. They said the Nobel Peace Prize to Liu,Xiaobo meant a lot which made human rights in China a highlight worldwide. They call on Chinese government to show sincerity and have equal conversation with minority group, and properly solve Tibet and Xinjiang problems.
