China Democracy Party member Mr. Liu, Xianbin(刘贤斌)

The China Democracy Party member Mr. Liu, Xianbin was born on Oct 2, 1968 in Suining City, Sichuan province. He graduated from the Labor and Personnel College of Renmin University of China in 1987. He took part in democratic movements in Beijing in 1989, and continued his involvement in democratic activities after the June Fourth Movement. He was arrested by the Chinese authority and was put in prison in Qincheng city on April, 15, 1991.
On Dec 28, 1992, the Chinese government sentenced Mr. Liu, Xianbin to two years and six months imprisonment for the crime of counterrevolutionary propaganda and incitement. Mr. Liu, Xianbin still maintained his belief after being released in October, 1993. He worked hard for the undertaking of China’s democracy and freedom. In March 1998, he published <A Public Letter to the Ninth National People’s Congress>, for demanding the Chinese government to improve the human rights condition in China, and sign the international conventions on human rights. On June 25, 1998, the China Democracy Party proclaimed its establishment in Hangzhou, Zhejiang. After that, Liu, Xianbin went to Chengdu and prepared Sichuan’s China Democracy Party activities.
On Oct 15, 1998, Liu, Xianbin, Yu, Wanbao and his friends publicly set up “the Preparatory Committee of Sichuan’s China Democracy Party”.
In January 1999, Mr. Liu Xianbin went to Hubei, Hunan, Zhejiang, Shandong and Beijing, and deliberated over the organization’s development and expansion with some China Democracy Party members in those regions. He was arrested and put in prison for a month in Beijng, then was sent back to Suining of Sichuan province and was under close surveillance. He was arrested on July 7, 1999, and was sentenced to 13 years imprisonment for the crime of “seditiousness and subversion of the state’s political power” by the Chinese government on August 6,1999. He served a nine-year and four-month prison sentence, and was finally discharged from prison on November 6, 2008.
On June 28, 2010, he was arrested and detained again for the crime of “seditiousness and subversion of the state’s political power” by the Chinese government, and it was Liu, Xianbin’s third imprisonment in his life.
中国民主党人刘贤斌先生
中国民主党人刘贤斌先生是四川遂宁人，生于1968年10月2日， 1987年考上中国人民大学劳动人事学院。1989年在北京参与爱国民主运动，六四事件以后，刘贤斌先生继续坚持参与民主活动。1991年4月15日，被中共当局逮捕，关进了秦城监狱。
1992年12月28日，中共当局以“反革命宣传煽动罪”判处刘贤斌先生有期徒刑2年6个月，1993年10月出狱。刘贤斌先生出狱后依然坚持自己的信念，为中国的民主自由事业继续奔波、操劳。1998年3月，刘贤斌先生发表了《致第九届全国人民代表大会公开信》，要求中共政府改善中国人权状况，并签署国际人权公约。1998年6月25日中国民主党在浙江杭州宣告成立，此后，刘贤斌来到成都，筹备四川的中国民主党组党活动。
1998年10月15日，刘贤斌与佘万宝等朋友一起公开成立“中国民主党四川省筹委会”。
1999年1月，刘贤斌先生到湖北、湖南、浙江、山东和北京等地，与各地的中国民主党人商讨组织的发展和壮大，在北京被捕、关押了一个月，被押回四川遂宁，遭到严密的监视，1999年7月7日被抓捕，1999年8月6日，刘贤斌被中共当局以“颠覆国家政权罪”判13年重刑。服刑9年零4个月，终于在2008年11月6日出狱。
2010年6月28日，再次被中共当局以"涉嫌煽动颠覆国家政权罪"拘留、关押，面临刘贤斌先生的将是他人生中的第三次牢狱之灾。 |
