Ma, Suqin: Chinese society must open up freedom of speech
The consciousness of Chinese people’s freedom of speech is gradually upgrading. There is a contradiction between this growing awareness among people and uncultured government political system. Nowadays, the government is still confine people’s speech, not allow them to express their opinions, and even not permit them talk any critical in the mass media.
Since developed and universal internet, many just reports from western society are heard by Chinese people through internet, which make Chinese people realize deeply that the freedom of speech environment they are in is not fair, and demands from people to speak freely are clearer and clearer. This is a challenge to Chinese Communist one-party ruling philosophy.
In spite of the regulations in Chinese constitution says that people have freedom of speech, actually, it is not realized; Chinese Communist government artificially set people as its enemy, which result in a circumstances of long-range non-stable and non-harmonious in Chinese society; Chinese government must correspond historical trend and open up freedom of speech thoroughly.
