WEI Jingsheng Meets with US Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau
of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor, Barry Lowenkron
On Tuesday, April 10, 2007, WEI Jingsheng, the Chairman of the Overseas
Chinese Democracy Coalition, met with Barry Lowenkron, the Assistant
Secretary of State for the Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor
in the US State Department. HUANG Ciping, the Secretary-General of the
Overseas Chinese Democracy Coalition and the Executive Director of the
Wei Jingsheng Foundation, and Susan O'Sullivan, the Bureau's Senior
Advisor for Asia, were also present.
The meeting discussed the current status inside China, especially
regarding human rights, democracy movement and political circumstance.
It also explored in detail the best and most effective ways to support
Chinese democracy and human rights.
