Palestinians medical officials say Israeli troops have killed two Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
Hospital officials say Israeli forces fought militants early Saturday east of the Gaza town of Beit Lahiya, killing one militant.
Israeli army officials say soldiers fired on a group of men approaching the strategic Karni crossing, between Gaza and Israel, overnight Friday, killing one man. It was not clear if the men were armed.
Israel began an offensive in the Gaza Strip in June after Palestinian militants captured an Israeli soldier in a cross-border raid.
Earlier this week, Palestinian factions in Gaza offered to stop firing rockets into Israeli territory if Israel halted military action in Gaza and the West Bank.
Israel rejected the offer, saying militants must first stop what it called all "terror activities."
