Liu, Jian: Populaces Must Have Right of Speaking Truth
Many of us have been forced to speak lies and empty talks from elementary school to university. Even if so-called sum-ups at work are still all the lies. Some are sentenced as criminals by China authorities because they have independent thoughts, call a spade a spade, are full of patriotic enthusiasm, and are unusually strict with the state and anxious to see it make instant progress. This is the biggest judicial darkness in China.
In a country, when the people don’t have rights to speak the truth, it is definitely backward and revival impossible. Nowadays China is far behind the west developed countries at fields of thinking science, natural science and social science. It is an undeniable objective fact, even general commodities are far not as good as the west, to say nothing of high-tech. Therefore China won’t have hope and future, Chinese nation won’t revive unless the thoughts of Chinese people are liberated completely and the freedoms of thought, speech, publishing, press and association are realized indeed.
