Wu, Xinquan: Selfishness and Greed Are Main Causes of Chinese Officials Severe Corruption
Chinese government combats corruption for many years, corrupt phenomena are not stopped by prohibition, and corruptive persons are not vanished by execution. As everything has a reason, its reason is the corruption of Chinese system, the centralized state power system of Chinese communist party’s complete lead and so-called nepotism, and social functioning system of highly democratic centralization and unity. The corruption combated by force of government one party dictatorship obviously can’t resolve the fundamental problems. It is proved that Chinese government combating corruption is only making a face issue, and as for a big law case of corruption, it is combated to a certain level and unable to continue.
The origin of Chinese corrupt problem is the congenital flaw and abuse of existing despotism, monopoly economic system. Because political power isn’t supervised by consensus and balanced by political party, economical life is in a half-blockade status, and property owning isn’t clear, the society inevitably provides the space, condition, chance and soil of corruption, degeneration, stealing and doing as one wants for official’s selfishness and greed. The corruption won’t be effectively deracinated unless one party dictatorship is abolished and a whole new democratic system is established.
