Wang ,Ting: Improving Human Rights in China Is China's Paramount Political Issue

Improving the human rights situation in China is the country's paramount political issue today; implementing universal values is the urgent priority and the only way forward for China.
The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) consistently subjects the public to brainwashing and indoctrination, demanding that the people concern themselves with and study politics.
However, the "politics" demanded by the CCP is not about caring for global affairs or major domestic events; rather, it requires the Chinese people to study the writings of CCP leaders, Party newspaper editorials, and official directives, effectively turning them into docile tools capable of grasping the "spirit" of the Party.
Official CCP media frequently remind the public that the Party's policies and guidelines—which shift over time—constitute the "paramount politics" that must be diligently studied and understood.
For instance, at times, economic development is deemed the paramount political issue; at other times, it is social stability; and at still other times, it is the fight against corruption.
The CCP emphasizes that the Chinese people must constantly uphold the Party's spirit, align with its actions, and maintain consistency with the Party Central Committee.
In reality, however, the implementation of universal values is the true paramount political issue in mainland China today. This is because the human rights situation of the Chinese people lags far behind that of other nations, leaving one-quarter of the global population mired in a state of barbarism and darkness.
This is a disgrace not only for China but for the international community as well; therefore, I believe that improving human rights in China is the country's most critical political issue.
