The CCP advocates atheism and regards traditional Chinese Buddhist culture as "superstition". The CCP constitution expressly stipulates that "party members and cadres shall not believe in religion or participate in superstition activities."
But in fact, the phenomenon of CCP officials believing in Buddhism and worshipping Buddha is widespread, and officials who openly participate in Buddhist activities have increased unabated in recent years.
This is because the CCP has ruled the people of the mainland for more than half a century, and it has done all kinds of good and bad deeds. In the eyes of the Chinese people, its prestige has been discredited. No matter what natural or man-made disasters are involved, as long as the CCP is involved, the people will all hate it and curse.
In order to save its own image, the CCP tried every means, and seeing that Marxism-Leninism was not working, the authorities turned to Buddhism again.
Not only that, the mainland Chinese authorities even further explained, claiming that the CCP is the Buddha, and the Buddha is the CCP, calling on many Buddhist believers to "closely unite around the Party Central Committee and realize the Chinese dream proposed by the CCP leaders."
A political party that claims to be staunchly materialist, in order to keep the autocratic regime, turned to Buddhism, which it has always opposed, for help. The CCP’s approach is truly self-contradictory. .
