Everyone yearns for freedom and wants to have freedom!
Freedom of speech is a basic right of modern citizens. It has been included in the constitutional provisions of most countries and has been implemented.
The biggest feature of democratic politics is that citizens participate in state management by freely expressing opinions, using various methods to express their personal opinions, defend their rights and interests, state current affairs views, exchange opinions with each other, openly discuss national affairs, and then reach a consensus and pass legislation. Form a public policy to be implemented.
However, very few authoritarian countries are still going against the trend and brutally depriving the people of their freedom of speech, simply because freedom of speech is the deadly enemy of violent despotism.
A one-party dictatorship monopolizes political power and prohibits people from participating. It never needs any speech. The dictatorship cannot tolerate open criticism and questioning.
