Strongly Urge the Chinese Army to be Nationalized

At 11am on July 30, 2013, part of the China Democracy Party members who live in America came to hold a rally in front of Chinese Consulate General, strongly urging the Chinese army to be nationalized. The chairman of China Democracy Party and Proprietor of China Democracy Journal Mr. Wang Jun attended the meeting and delivered a speech, some China Democracy Party members also made some speeches at the rally.

The army in democratic country belongs to the country. It does not belong to any parties, and is always in politically neutral state. Under such condition, any party in the country including the ruling party has no right to mobilize the army. The army is only subject to the government and president elected by people. This is a very important symbol which shows freedom, democracy, human rights, and rule of law in democratic countries. In today's China, although the country's constitution clearly stipulates: "China's armed forces belong to the people.", the Chinese government still let many Chinese people believe that the Chinese army is people’s army and they are on behalf of Chinese people to command the army through various promotion. However, the situation in China is that the party is in charge of the military, which means the Chinese army has to obey the leadership of Chinese Communist Party. Over the sixty years, the Chinese government mobilized the army to suppress the Chinese people several times. It suppressed th89 pro-democracy movement, killing students and the public, which is well known as the June 4th massacre. The Chinese government also repeatedly mobilized troops to suppress the civil rights movement across the country, suppress the movements that Tibet monks and the Xinjiang Uighur pursue human rights and democracy.

In recent years, Chinese people’s demand of army nationalization is becoming stronger and stronger. However, the Chinese Communist Party ruling authorities still do not take any reasonable advices, and stick to the theory of “ party is in charge of the army”, letting its power into every level in the army. They also stress that army has to carry out the Party's political tasks, and the army must obey the command of the party.

In the Chinese government, some people raised the question of army nationalized. This is the things Chinese Communist Party fears the most. The Chinese Communist government understands clearly that if it loses the command of the army it will lose its power. This is the root reason that Chinese Communist party against army nationalization. Today, no matter what kind of means does the Chinese government take to stop nationalization is in vain. It is the historical necessity to let the army nationalized.
