On May 28, 2013, from 11am to 12pm, China Democracy Party members and people from all walks of life gathered together in front of the China Consulate General to commemorate the 24th anniversary of June 4th event in 1989. They strongly request the Chinese government to investigate this event, find out the person who needs to take responsibility, and punish whoever is behind the event. The Chairman of China Democracy Party and proprietor of China Democracy Journal Mr. Wang, Jun hosted today’s rally. It began with the music named “song of eighty-nine”. Chairman Mr. Wang, Jun led all the participants sing ““song of eighty-nine” and “historical woods”. Famous Hong Kong Democracy activist Mr. Liu, Tai attended the rally and also delivered a speech.
Today, in the scene of commemorating 24 anniversary of June 4th even in front of the China Consulate General, we once again sung this song: I am singing this tragic song, sing it to my motherland with many disasters, in the morning of June 4th, the moment martyrs were dying, they sing this tragic song, traveled to every corner of the world, for the freedom of China, fighting, fighting, fighting…..(lyric). It has been 24 years since the happening of June 4th event. But people can still hear the shooting sound, and the blood and tears are still not dry; the history is inerasable, and would last forever. Murders are still not found, and nation’s grief is still there.
When the June 4th event happened in 1989, many people have experienced the thrilling process that Chinese military suppress it. And there are still many precious pictures and video materials left. Though it has passed 24 years, anybody with conscience would not agree with the Chinese Communist government who started this violent repression as long as they see the documentary of this event.
There are many video clips named “never forget June 4th” on internet. When people open any video clip, they can see the scenes like these. In the early morning of June 4th, the heavily armed troops entered the city, soldiers opened fire, and many people died. These young bodies were dying under soldiers’ guns, and they could still feel the pain. Tanks and armored vehicles were also there, chasing those students, and crushed those lives who did not run away fast enough. But also there are people tried to stop the tanks by using their own bodies… Tanks do not only kill people’s lives, they also kill the hope of China’s democracy. Since after the June 4th event, China＇s political reform remains on the paper, and today’s China is further and further away to the road of democracy.

The chairman of China Democracy Party and proprietor of China Democracy Journal Mr. Wang, Jun said on the rally, “Over the 24 years, many Chinese people have already forgotten the enormous trauma the June 4th event brought. There are fewer people would mention this painful topic. Today, the modern life is stimulating people walking toward debauchery; many people have already totally forgotten this event. The Chinese society under Chinese Communist government’s govern is walking toward the vicious circle of moral turpitude. This is China’s tragedy, which has no democracy, freedom, human rights and rule of law.
Wang, Jun pointed out that the democratic movement in 1989 which was centered in June 4th event lasted for half a year, though it failed, but its meaning and influence is far reaching. It is the only great movement demanding democracy and freedom since China’s reform and opening 30 years ago. Those whoever participated in this movement was mostly above their own interest, and the campaign was identified as highly moral and civilized. It has not surpassed by any social protest movement. Today, China Democracy Party members gathered together in front of the China Consulate General to hold the rally to commemorate the 24th anniversary of June 4th event.
We sincerely look forward to the day that Chinese people can put all victims’ names on the monument in Tiananmen Square. So our generations will always remember "89 pro-democracy movement" ＇ contribution to China’s democratization.
