At 11am on June 5, 2012, over 200 members of China Democracy Party gathered in
front of the Chinese Consulate General to hold a rally; the theme of it were
“Congratulations on the China Democrat Mr. Hu, Mingjun’s release from prison!” and
“A strong protest of the Chinese Communist government arrested Democrats, demanding the Chinese central government to release all the imprisoned China democrats and dissidents!” The Chairman of China Democracy Party and Proprietor
of China Democracy Journal Mr. Wang, Jun attended the rally and made a speech.
Mr.Hu, Mingjun was born on June 28, 1963, in Leshan city Sichuan Province, Han nationality. He graduated from Sichuan Panzhihua Jianzhu Gongcheng University, was a main member of the China Democracy Party in Sichuan. On December 18, 2000, Mr. Hu,Mingjun, Mr. Wangsen and some other people organized over 1000 workers from Sichuan Dazhou Steel Plant in the name of China Democracy Party members to take a street demonstration, protesting that the company default workers’ wages over one year, asking them to pay immediately. Meanwhile, the China Democracy Party in Sichuan issued a statement that they would strongly support the demonstrations. On April 30, 2001, a main member of China Democracy Party in Sichuan Mr. Wangsen was arrested by Chinese police in Dazhou, Sichuan. A month later, on May 29, 2001, Mr. Hu,Mingjun was also arrested by Chinese police there. On May 30, 2002, Mr. Wang, Sen and Mr. Hu,Mingjun was sentenced to 10 years and 11 years in prison respectively following the charge of “subversion of State power”. Mr. Wangsen was released on July 2, 2010.
Mr. Hu, Mingjun was imprisoned in Sichuan Pengan prision, later he was transferred to Sichuan First Prison Jichuan Zhong prison. When he was in custody, Mr. Hu, Mingjun still insisted in his belief of democracy and freedom, never gave up, and refused to commit the crime. He protested against the so-called labor reform, did not obey the brainwashing education, so he was beaten hardly and persecuted cruelly. After the sentence, Mr. Hu, Mingjun’s wife divorced with him since she could not bear the pressures from all sides; his father died become he could not accepting this. Mr. Hu, Mingjun was in prison for 11 years, and finally was released on May 28, 2012. The U.S. State Department published 2011 human rights report on Mar 28, 2012, and the section of Chinese human rights was as long as 142 pages. Mr. Hu, Mingjun was listed in the name list of political criminals by Chinese Communist Party in 2011 Human rights report.
The Chairman of China Democracy Party and Proprietor of China Democracy Journal Mr. Wang,Jun attended this rally and also made a speech. He said, “It has been 64 years since the United Nations first issued the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As a signatory, the human rights situation in China still hasn’t improved even after over sixty years. The violations of human rights events occur year after year. The 2011 Human Rights Report of U.S. State Department named China as “authoritarian country”, the report also pointed out that the human rights in China continue to deteriorate.
Over the years, on human rights issues, the Chinese Communist government is saying one thing and doing another thing, using lies to deceit the international society. The government is lack of sincerity to improve human rights. The current Chinese society is full of public anger. The number of petitioners becomes larger and larger; strikes occur more and more often; there are a lot of food and drug safety accidents; the price index keeps on being high. Regardless of the collapsing situation, the Chinese Communist government continues to arrest, detent, monitor and harass China Democrats and dissidents.
Before arrest, China Democrat Mr. Hu, Mingjun had a stable life and a beautiful family. However, he ruined his family for the democracy in China. His wife left him and his father died. After his release, Mr. Hu, Mingjun is over fifty years old, and in a bad health condition. All the past business has been abandoned long time ago. He will face the difficulties of finding a job and the hardship of life.” Chairman Mr. Wang, Jun called all the China Democrats and whoever cares him to take actions and make donation to Mr. Hu, Mingjun.
At last, Mr. Wang, Jun pointed out that the concept of human rights declared by Universal Declaration of Human Rights had been widely recognized by people all over the world, and the Chinese people were accepting it gradually. We called the Chinese Communist government to comply with Universal Declaration of Human Rights, obey the historical trend, renounce violence, stop persecution and improve human rights situation. The Chinese Communist government should release all the detained Democrats and dissidents, using practical actions to promote the progress of human rights in China.
