Strong Protest against the CDP member Mingkai Xue’s Heavy Sentence from the China Communist Government

——Appeal for a Donation to Dawei Li, a CDP Member Who Has Served 11-year Prison Sentence

At 11:00am of the April 24 of 2012, more than two hundreds CDP members attended a rally held in front of Chinese Consulate General in New York. The rally’s topic was “strong protest against the CDP member Mingkai Xue’s heavy sentence from the China communist government! A donation for Dawei Li, a CDP member who has served 11-year prison sentence! Strong protest against terrible persecution CDP members and dissidents suffer from the China communist government!”. Mr. Jun Wang, the chairman of China Democracy Party as well as the proprietor of “China Democracy Journal”, attended the rally and made an important speech. Several Tibetans who are living in U.S. also took part in the rally.
Mr. Mingkai Xue, a 22-year old member of China Democracy Party (CDP), is from Qufu city of Shandong province, and now living in No.20 Dongyi Lane of Zhangzao Village, Lingcheng Town of Qufu city. He worked as a security guard in Shenzhen. In the May of 2009, he contacted with overseas China Democracy Party, and he was finally detained by the Shenzhen police station on the suspicion of “subverting the state’s political power”. In the February of 2010, he was sentenced to one-year and six-month imprisonment. During his days in prison, his mother appealed to the higher authority for justice, but was arrested and reeducated through labor. In the beginning of last year, Mr. Mingkai Xue was released upon the completion of his sentence. After his release from jail, he found a job in his hometown Shandong, but he lost the job owing to the harassment from the National Security Bureau. He moved to another place to earn a living. On behalf of China Democracy Party, he came to Leqing city of Zhejiang province to inquire into the homicide case of Yunhui Qian, who was a right-safeguarding village head. In the end of the February of last year, Mr. Mingkai Xue spread important information concerning Jasmine Revolution through Internet. Mingkai Xue, and Shanshui Wei, a right-safeguarding activist from Sichuan, came to Wenzhou together. At last, both of them were arrested by the Chinese communist government in the beginning of March, 2011. In the March of 2012, Mr. Mingkai Xue, a member of China Democracy Party, was sentenced to four-year imprisonment by the Chinese communist authority due to a crime of “subverting the state’s political power”. He was put in Shandong Jail on March 12.

Picture 2: At the rally, Mr. Jun Wang, the chairman of China Democracy Party as well as the proprietor of “China Democracy Journal” said that, members of China Democracy Party always insist on anti-violence and anti-terrorist governance, and advocate an idea of democracy, freedom, peace, rationalism, and non-violence. Besides, the members persevere with the promotion of Chinese society on the basis of the idea.

Picture 3: Mr. Mingkai Xue agreed with CDP’s idea of “an end to China Communist Party’s one-party dictatorship for the establishment of a democratic China”, that’s why he participated in China Democracy Party (CDP) and became a domestic member of the party. The so-called “subverting the state’s political power” is just a trumped-up charge that was enforced on Mingkai Xue by the Chinese communist authority.

They said that the Chinese communist government has been already governing Tibet for over half a century, depriving Tibetans of their freedom and human rights, trampling on their unique ethnic cultures, and limiting their freedom to pursue religious beliefs.

At the rally, Mr. Mr. Mingkai Xue, a 22-year old member of China Democracy Party (CDP), joined China Democracy Party and became a domestic member of the party on the premise that he agreed with CDP’s idea of “an end to China Communist Party’s one-party dictatorship for the establishment of a democratic China”. The so-called “subverting the state’s political power” is just a trumped-up charge that was enforced on Mingkai Xue by the Chinese communist authority. China Democracy Party hopes that the Chinese communist government will give up violence, stop persecution, and release all detained CDP members including Mr. Mingkai Xue.
Mr. Jun Wang also said that Mr. Dawei Li, a member of China Democracy Party, had been released upon the completion of his sentence. Mr. Dawei Li from Gansu province was sentenced to 11-year imprisonment by Chinese communist government owing to a charge of “subverting the state’s political power”. Fifty-year old Dawei Li ever joined the People’s Liberation Army, and worked as a policeman after demobilization. He once served in the public security bureau of Tianshui city of Gansu province. In 2001, Mr. Dawei Li actively participated in protests against CDP’s suppression from the Chinese government, demanded the release of political prisoners, signed on an open letter for expressing the public’s sufferings, contacted with overseas pro-democracy activists and human rights organizations for the rescue of other dissidents being in confinement, and exerted pressure on the Chinese communist government through international media. He was arrested by the Chinese communist government in that year, was heavily sentenced to 11-year imprisonment due to a crime of “subverting the state’s political power” in 2002, and was release from prison on April 14, 2012. After being released from jail, Mr. Dawei Li has been living in poverty. Both of his parents are over eighty years old, and he has entered his 50s and is now in poor health, his wife left him many years ago, and his children need to go to school. Mr. Yongmin Qin, a CDP member from Wuhan, sent Mr. Jun Wang a letter introducing Mr. Dawei Li’s living conditions and asking the CDP’s headquarters for aid. China Democracy Party (CDP) hereby calls for humanitarian donations to the CDP member Mr. Dawei Li. China Democracy Party long advocates the slogan of “donation is the best way to support the undertaking of China’s democracy”, since donations could effectively promote the healthy development of China’s democracy.
Several members of China Democracy Party made speeches during the rally. They expressed a great outcry about the CDP member Mr. Mingkai Xue’s heavy sentence from the Chinese communist government, and strongly demanded an unconditional release of the CDP member Mr. Mingkai Xue from the Chinese communist government! They also made an appeal to those who care China’s future and fate to participate in political reforms, impel political change, advocate democracy and freedom, and contribute to the promotion of China’s democratization construction.
Several Tibetans also made speeches during the rally. They said that the Chinese communist government has been already governing Tibet for over half a century, depriving Tibetans of their freedom and human rights, trampling on their unique ethnic cultures, and limiting their freedom to pursue religious beliefs. Furthermore, the government sows dissension between the Tibetan nationality and other ethnic groups, which keens contradictions between Tibetans and people of other ethnic groups. In recent years, some Tibetans had no alternative, but to express their resentment towards the Chinese communist government through extreme ways like self-immolation. Until now, more than thirty Tibetans burnt themselves to death. The Tibetan representatives intensively demanded the Chinese communist government to stop forcibly persecuting Tibetans, and improve the Tibetans’ freedom and human rights. China Democracy Party led by Chairman Jun Wang consistently supports the Tibetans’ pursuit of freedom and human rights, respects the Centrism Route pursued by the Dalai Lama and the exiled government of Tibetan. The party esteems the idea of “striving for the realization of Tibet’s self-governance instead of Tibet’s independence”.
