In the past twenty years, with the rapid economical development, environmental pollution has been an alarming problem. Even though the Chinese government makes an effort to control environmental pollution, the environmental pollution has not been improved yet, the new pollution is continuing to be produced. Energy consumption is continually increasing, emissions of carbon dioxide and toxic gases are constantly growing, and industrial waste gas, liquid waste, and solid waste is discharged endlessly.
Quite a few Chinese officials protect the environment, save energy, and reduce emission in word and in tongue, they do not put into action. On one hand the government takes measures against pollution, but on the other hand it continues to pollute the environment. Such environmental protection method that is unable to attend to everything at one time, will never fundamentally reduce environmental pollution. The Chinese officials at all levels indulgently allow production enterprises to pollute the environment, for the pursuit of political achievements, output value, and local economic benefits.
Maintain a clean and beauteous environment is the common goal of people all over the world. For that purpose, government of each country is intensifying environmental preservation. The Chinese government must make contributions to environmental protection, readjust industrial structure, reduce energy consumption, popularize sludge reduction technologies, and effectively protect the environment in Chinese areas.
