Uncompromisingly Support to the Tibetan Compatriots’ Fight for Human Rights and Freedom

——Respect to the Centrism Way Pursued By Dalai Lama And the Tibetan Government-In-Exile

On March 27, 2012, about 11:00am, more than two hundreds China Democracy Party’s members came to a rally held in front of China Consulate General, the rally’s topic is: uncompromisingly support to the Tibetan compatriots’ fight for human rights and freedom. China Democracy Party publicly states that the party respects the centrism way pursued by Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government-in-exile. To realize political autonomy instead of the independence of Tibetan is the centrism idea. Mr. Jun Wang, the chairman of China Democracy Party as well as the proprietor of “China Democracy Journal”, gave a speech during the rally.
In recent days, there were several Tibetan self-immolations happened in Tibetan residences of China. On March 3, 2012, a Tibetan woman came from Maqu county of Gansu province, burned herself to death. On March 4, another woman named Renzhen set herself on fire in front of the police station located before the Geerdeng Mosque in Abei county of Sichuan province. While burning herself, Rezhen was loudly shouting slogans of “let the Dalai Lama return to Tibet” and “Tibet wants freedom”. Renzhen was a mother having three children, and her husband passed away one year ago. After the Tibetan self-immolations happened, many Tibetans residing abroad, held protests against such affair. A Tibetan named Ren, Choekyi and two other Tibetans went on a hunger strike in front of United Nations headquarters, to protest against China Communist Party’s persecuting Tibetan monks and trampling Tibetans’ human rights. On March 16, 2012, another Tibetan monk set himself on fire, for a protest against the Chinese government’s tyrannous policy in Tibet, and a demand for the return of the Dalai Lama to Tibet. The Tibetan monk died on March 19. In the first three months of 2012, about 17 Tibetans, have self-immolated.

Picture 3: Tibetan self-immolations could not be considered as simple suicide. They are compelled against their will, express strong dissatisfaction to the China communist government through such extreme means. The Tibetans fight for freedom and human rights at the expense of their life.

Picture 4: Tibetan is a minority nationality region that has gone through numerous hardships and difficulties since China Communist Party seized China’s state power. The Tibetans’ freedom and human rights have not been improved, and lately, more serious contradiction appears. We have to say that it is the result of the China communist government’s disrespect to Tibetans’ human rights.

In the afternoon of March 22, 2012, Parfait Onanga-Anyanga, the representative of Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Richard Bennett, human rights assistant as well as Secretary-General’s special adviser, came to the United Nations Plaza, and gave the Tibetans on hunger strike a letter signed by Navi Pillay, the U.N. human rights commissioner. Two of the Tibetan protesters named Tenzin Choekyi and Yeshi Tenzing presented the U.N. officials with “Hada” (Tibetan ceremonial scarf which is a piece of silk, usually white in color, used as a greeting gift among the Zang and Mongol nationalities). The U.N. officials promised the Tibetans to send envoy to Tibet.
Since the first Tibetan self-immolation accident happened in 2009, about thirty Tibetans have set themselves on fire. As for the Tibetan self-immolations, the Chinese government does not question its own behavior, but accuse the Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Tibetan exiles, of instigating Tibetans self-immolation. Dalai Lama said he would be pleased to accept an investigation from the Chinese government.
Dalai Lama said, the Tibetans are the real master of Tibet, most Tibetans are living in Tibet, and those Tibetans have no freedom and human rights. As Tibetans, they are naturally keen on their own ethnic religion, culture, and language, just as all Chinese people are fond of their own religion, culture, and language. From 1959, with remarkable courage and unalterable faith, Tibetans make contributions to sustainability of their own religion and culture. There is no doubt that Tibetans are the real master of Tibet. Dalai Lama and Tibetan government-in-exile promise that Tibetans will not seek ways for its independence from China, they will continue dialogue and consultations for the realization of Tibet’s autonomy and preservation of Tibet’s unique religion and ethnic culture.

For many years, China Democracy Party and I have been respecting the centrism idea pursued by Dalai Lama and Tibetan government-in-exile, we respect the idea of ‘striving for the realization of Tibet’s autonomy instead of Tibet’s independence’. We appeal to the United Nations to take actions to enquire into the facts of Tibetan self-immolations”.
