The traditional American foundation research center of Asia held don＇t forget the 1958-1962 famine 50 anniversary meeting to February 15, 2012 held in Washington, relevant researchers Jasper Becker and Frank Dikö tter made special speech; Heavy famine survivors and the people from different social fields and the mainstream media reporters, more than fifty people attended this seminar. The conference representatives point out, we souvenir 1958-1962 China heavy famine 50 years, in that four years, there are 40 million people dead. This nationwide famine event, is not caused by the bad weather, also is not caused by foreign forces of planning. But by China＇s dictator Mao, Zedong, who set reckless agricultural policies, which is difficult to implement, during the “great development” period. As one of history＇s most deadly of famine, the death toll is more than the sum of twice world wars death toll. After this incident, the China government has been kept the all record of this famine, and in the same time, distort history in various forms to escape responsibility.
After more than half a century later, the voice of the survivors’ of this heavy famine became weaker and weaker, in order to avoid the tragedy will be forgotten by people. The survivors of the heavy famine have Shared their tragic experience; this experience has never been mentioned in the overseas, today by some experts to show their the new study of the famine without fear.
