Meng, Xianghong: Urge the Chinese government to protect women’s basic human rights

The Chinese government has discriminated women for a long time and caused the lack of human rights for Chinese women; the birth control policy that has been effective for many years is a typical example of trampling women’s human rights. In addition, many Chinese women experienced domestic family violence. There is no relevant law and regulations on how to prevent women from domestic violence. For Chinese women, this is the persecution of human rights.
The suicidal percentage of Chinese women is higher than that of men. Some women at the childbearing age have to bear the persecution from the government’s birth control policy; and on the other hand, bear the torture of domestic violence. Many illiterate women have lived their whole life in poverty and maltreatment and don’t know how to fight. Suicide has become the final measure of some women who can’t stand the violent persecution and escape life.
For many years, the Chinese government has promised to improve human rights and the working and living conditions of women. As of now, there are no signs of any improvement of human rights. Most Chinese women haven’t received education and are discriminated at work and in life. Under the control of an inhuman government, the people can’t receive good education, nor can they live in a fair and justified competitive environment, especially Chinese women. I, as one of Chinese women, urge all women to fight against unreasonable system and urge the government to eliminate the birth control policy as soon as possible, so that men and women can work equally and the basic human rights of women can be guaranteed.
