May 6, 2011 6PM, Ms. Martha Flores-Vazquez, the community leader from Community Prevention Alternatives visited Chen, Ye and his mother Fan, Shuying at the service center of China Democracy Party. Chen, Ye lost his voice after his vocal cord was violently injured when he was in China.

Chen, Ye is from Guilin, China. In 2000, when he was in high school, he openly published his articles to criticize teachers who did favors to those students from privileged families in students’ campaign. He wanted to protect the school’s dignity and fairness and justice. However, soon after this, he was brutally beat by those teachers and students involved. As a result, his vocal cord was seriously injured and eventually lost his voice. Chen, Ye and his mother Fan, Shuying was hoping to gain justice and punish those who hurt him. However, there was no Law in China and the so-called Law was just a game for government authorities. Chen, Ye didn’t get compensated at all, and his family was intimidated and harassed. Chen, Ye couldn’t speak or communicate with other people in years after this incident. He was cruelly hurt physically and mentally.

Martha Flores-Vazquez showed great sympathy towards Chen, Ye and comforted him and his mother, Fan, Shuying for what they went through. She promised to help Chen, Ye through effective ways. She also stated that, the Chinese and U.S governments are having conversations regarding human rights and she would file this as a violence case and send it to relevant organizations to urge the U.S government to help China stop violence and improve human rights situation.
