Wang,Qingkai: China lacks effective food safety system
王庆凯(Wang,Qingkai)
China lacks effective food safety system, and Chinese market appeared fatal “leather milk power” after melamine incidents. Illegal businessmen hydrolyze leather wastes and blend powers to milk power to raise protein contents and seek exorbitant profits. The chemical material in the leather results in poisons and even death of children.
After the 2008 Beijing Olympics, media exposes melamine poisonous milk power and at least 23 brands were inspected to contain overdose melamine. However, only Sanlu group was punished and the rest didn’t get any punishments, such behavior of CCP greatly harms peoples’ health and life safety.
The current food safety system in the United States has been developed for many years, thought the system is huge and very diverse, American government has very strict legal management for food safety, and food industries self-disciplines according to food safety rules. Under such conditions, food safety is guaranteed in American market; Chinese government should draw on American rules and strengthen legislation and enforcement of food safety, and let Chinese people to have safe food.
