Gao, Yifeng: The government should guarantee life safety of the masses

Two and half years ago, Beijing held the 29th Olympic Games and fulfilled the dream Chinese people have dreamed for years. At that year, all Chinese people are incited to welcome the red letter day when millions of people exciting; exposed thrills oppressed for over a century. However, things have come out against peoples’ wishes, and started from that year, disasters happen very often. China suffered snow disasters, flood disasters, people live on this land suffered many trials.
In May, 2008, Wenchuan in Sichuan province had earthquake and shocked all Chinese people, roads were broke, and couldn’t see the ends; mountains fell down and debris flow were everywhere. Seven thousands people were dead, 18 thousands people went missing. On the morning of August 8, 2010, Quzhou County in Gansu province had rainstorm and lead to mountain torrents, and 1500 people were dead.
These natural disasters are beyond human control, however, the CCP still take advantage of these disasters to praise the rulers, and fully utilize media and propaganda to report concerned government and officials, follow-up reports of high ranking officials go to disaster areas and solicitudes for victims, reports how CCP care about victims, how to care about their safety of lives and property. All are empty words and they usually bring huge loss to peoples’ lives and property because of inefficient rescue efforts. The question is：Is such government a people-orient government?
