Cui,Xiang: Against forced demolition under “rule of men”
崔翔(Cui,Xiang)
Speaking of forced demolition, many civilians are very sensible, in this one party dictatorship country, and power treading law nation, law exists in name only, and there is no way to restrict and supervise “rule of men” by government. In recent years, some local officials like face projects, construction of high buildings, geographical expansion of cities, forced demolition of civilian houses. The cruel methods of forced demolition, officials collide with foundation contractors, forcing civilians to abandon houses they rely on for existence.
Most people can understand city planning of the government, they know very clear that those who don’t agreed with demolition end up in no good; they are afraid of getting arrested, taken into custody, and afraid of violence; they fear they have nowhere to live when houses are demolished; appealing get no feedback, and appealers are on the tramp. Therefore, some civilians suffered forced demolition, and fight back by instinct, thus appeared rivalries of officials and civilians, even bloodshed, casualties.
Forced demolition is very common in China, government should reform demolition policies, improve irrational demolition regulations, abandon violent demolition, using rule of law to replace rule of men, and let government actions truly restricted and controlled by law, and avoid bloodshed incidents in the process of demolition.
