Rally of “Strongly Protest CCP Government’s Obstruction on Internet”
At 11am, February 23, 2010, over a hundred China Democracy Party members went to China Consulate in NYC to hold a protest rally: Strongly Protest CCP Government’s Obstruction on Internet! Strongly ask for speech freedom and press freedom! Chairman of China Democracy Party and China Democracy Party World Union, publisher of “China Democracy Journal”, Mr.Jun Wang participated in today’s rally and made a speech in the rally.
Forty years ago, the internet appeared. On September 14, 1987 the internet formally came into China and opened a new door for the isolated China. Chinese people showed endless enthusiasm towards the internet. Many Chinese, especially the young generation were all willing to absorb training on internet knowledge. Chinese people have established an intimate relation with the internet. This intimate relation has brought a fresh and giant power, which allows Chinese people to truly know, understand and take part in the world. Meanwhile, the world also has a chance to understand and recognize China. The internet promotes the civilization and progress in China positively and effectively.
When internet firstly came into China, the internet community and Chinese expecting democracy and freedom has once held lots of believes: Internet can break the press obstruction made by Chinese government and promote democracy progress in China significantly. However, the truth went totally against people’s good wishes. The CCP government spends large amount of money to build an iron wall on the internet to block information, supervise websites and restrict people’s speech freedom. For such a long time, the CCP not only controls the internet strictly and censors the internet ruthlessly; it also makes the whole progress systematical and the means tough. The “Google Event” in January 2010 has proved this truth.

Chairman of China Democracy Party and China Democracy Party World Union, publisher of “China Democracy Journal”, Mr.Jun Wang said in the rally: These years, the internet industry in China has developed significantly, so does CCP’s ability to control the internet. CCO invests a lot of money to obtain modern techniques from foreign countries and founds the largest and advanced internet controlling system. Besides, it also puts money into trainings on internet hackers with high techniques. It reaches hands out to all corners of international internet. Therefore, CCP’s control over internet is full of political terror and violence.
Jun Wang pointed out that political freedom is a system principle recognized by most countries in the world. Instead, CCP regards political freedom and speech freedom as crimes. Democracy, freedom, human rights and legislation all become forbidden topics in China. According to CCP, manipulating internet relates to the existence of their authority. If the economy development is influenced by their control over internet, their political power is not threatened. Once CCP loses their authority, developing the economy in China will be meaningless for CCP. This is the real cause for CCP’s strict control over internet.
China Democracy Party and China Democracy Party World Union consider democracy, freedom, human rights and legislation as the basic principles of a democratic society. The CCP government can’t ignore this principle. The internet has important function in promoting the construction of democracy, freedom, human rights and legislation in China. Besides, it can also accelerate the economy progress in China and strengthen the ties between China and the whole world. China Democracy Party and China Democracy Party World Union strongly protest CCP’s blockade of internet! Strongly demand CCP authority to open up the internet completely!
