May 12th, 2008, an 8-class earthquake happened in Wenchuan of Sichuan Province. 100 thousands of people died and 300 thousands of people are wounded and several hundred thousands of people have lost their living places and properties. After earthquake, Jun Wang in NY, chairman of CDPWU, attaches importance to disaster areas and democratic people and CDP members and their families in earthquake areas. Chairman Jun Wang know thing situation by many ways and is as delegate of CDPWU to condole victims. At the same time, donate money for democratic people and CDP members and their families in earthquake areas.
On June 25, 2008, chairman Jun Wang arrange CDPWU members on Western Union in Flushing, NY to mail CDP member Sen Wang’s wife Xinyu Wei 2500 dollars and mail human rights defender Guohong Li’s, who is jailed in Chongqing, wife Yunxia Pi 500 dollars, and mail CDP member Wanping Xu’s wife Xianying Chen 500 dollars. Total is 3500 dollars. Among the donation, chairman Jun Wang donate 2700 dollars and CDPWU members donate 800 dollars. After donation, chairman Jun Wang still can’t connect with Guohong Li’s wife Yunxia Pi. Other proves that she has received the donation.
