It is very interesting for people in China to talk about democracy. I would like to share a few paragraphs with you.
By extension, in a WeChat group I am in, when everyone is going to find a few people to take charge of, they have to count how many people there are and how to elect the "committee" in the group. It is very noisy and exciting. This is democracy.
Democracy is when a group of people reach a consensus through consultation, and then abide by this consensus, rather than just listening to others with fists.
If the WeChat group is a virtual democracy, community elections are a true democratic practice. The community elects its own committee to speak for the interests of residents. What is verified is the wise saying that "all politics is local."
By extension, after families and communities practice the democratic way of life, everyone from villages, towns to counties, provinces to countries can follow the trend.
The problem is that there are many skeptics about the implementation of democracy in China: the quality of the citizens is too low, it won't work; the regional differences are too big, it won't work; democracy is street politics, which will lead to chaos; one person, one vote, won't work.
Some people even say that if there is an election in China, Internet tycoon Ma Huateng will definitely be elected. As long as he says to vote for him, he can get 50 QQ coins and everything will be decided.
This is another way of saying it.
