On March 3, 2012, a Tibetan woman came from Maqu County, Gansu Province, burned herself to death. On March 4, another woman named Renzhen burned herself to death in front of the police post located before the Geerdeng Mosque in Abei County, Sichuan Province. While burning herself, Rezhen was loudly shouting slogans of “let the Dalai Lama return to Tibet” and “Tibet wants freedom”. Renzhen was a mother having three children, and her husband passed away one year ago. Many Tibetans residing abroad, held protests against this affair. A Tibetan named Ren, Boqi and two other Tibetans who living in New York City, America, went on a hunger strike in front of United Nations Headquarters, to protest against China Communist Party persecutes Tibetan monks and tramples Tibetans’ human rights.

During the protest rally, the chairman of China Democracy Party as well as the proprietor of China Democracy Journal Mr. Jun Wang said, “There are 26 Tibetans have been burned themselves since the first sell-immolation accident happened in February 2009. What the Tibetans did is not simply suicidal behavior, but is a sacrifice spirit for the pursuit of human rights and freedom. We appeal to the Tibetans for cherishing their lives, and pay tribute to the 26 sacrificed Tibetans. Their deeds have been gone down to history, and will become great recollection of the Tibetan nationality. China Democracy Party and I are filled with deep esteem for Dalai Lama, and the centrism idea pursued by the Tibetan government-in-exile, we respect the idea of ‘striving for the realization of high degree of autonomy instead of Tibet’s independence, protecting Tibet’s unique religion and ethnic culture’.

In order to express sincere gratitude to the Chairman Jun Wang and the members of China Democracy Party for their support, the Tibetan protesters presented everyone with “Hada (Tibetan ceremonial scarf which is a piece of silk, usually white in color, used as a greeting gift among the Zang and Mongol nationalities)”.
